Quote Of The Day
August 24, 2005
Said with WAY too much excitement by my 6 yr old son:
“Mom I know why you painted our bathroom that color! So when we get poop on the walls it won’t show up!”
Animals, I tell you, I live with a bunch of animals.

That doesn’t look quite as much like poo as I had envisioned. Although maybe you’re feeding your kids something to turn their poo that particular shade of brown. And I’m glad to know your children are thinking about utility and not just aesthetics when they look at a newly painted wall…
August 24th, 2005 at 8:23 amWell hey atleast he has a positive out look on the color. because you werent so sure about it.
Too funny.
August 24th, 2005 at 8:52 amAt least he’s aware. My ds asked “Why did you get rid of the carpet in our bathroom?” Does the child have no sense of smell? It looks great by the way.
August 24th, 2005 at 8:54 amYou know, very old barns in Europe actually had the barn attached to the house (you could go straight from the kitchen to the cows without going outside)… the top half of the barn walls were painted white… and the bottom half brown (for just that reason)…
I love that sink! And the color!
August 24th, 2005 at 9:35 amScream! So funny!
August 24th, 2005 at 9:51 amLisa: Carpet in a bathroom is wrong! But, this doesn’t bother men, does it? Of any age.
August 24th, 2005 at 11:12 amOne of the benefits of the color we painted my son’s room is that the boogers he sometimes wipes on the wall don’t show. I didn’t realize this upside until we started painting and had to scrub boogers off the wall, but it seems like a plus side, if you ignore the fact that a child wiping his nose on the wall is never a positive.
August 24th, 2005 at 11:29 amOh geez, too funny. Animals!
I like the bathroom color! It is really pretty!
August 24th, 2005 at 12:00 pmYou’re just a genius. hehe
August 24th, 2005 at 3:54 pmHeather, I stayed 3 weeks in Germany with a family that raised pigs. Their house was not very old at all but even still, the barn was attached to the house through the kitchen. There was a hall off the back of the kitchen that had a small mud room with a shower and then right out to the pigs. Pretty gross! LOL Believe it or not, the smell really didn’t enter the house too much. It was much worse coming in through the windows when they fertilized the fields! LOL
August 24th, 2005 at 5:09 pmI wish I could chuckle and think how funny and outrageous but, well, we have white walls in the kid’s bathroom.
nuff said
August 24th, 2005 at 7:51 pmROFLMBO!!!! How hilarious!!! I should paint my walls that color so that when B draws big 2 foot red spiders on the wall or wipes her messy jelly and chocolate hands on the wall that it won’t show up as much.
August 24th, 2005 at 10:30 pmI probably shouldn’t say this, especially after you worked so hard, but my wife and I were watching a design show on HGTV (we LOVE it) and they said you are never supposed to paint your bathroom YELLOW or BROWN. I’ll let you figure out why. Sorry, but I had to say it after that comment from your child.
August 25th, 2005 at 12:31 pmjason,
I have another bathroom that is yellow, so I guess I have both functions covered.
August 25th, 2005 at 3:03 pmAnd I’m willing to bet that the HGTV expert doesn’t have little kids who think the walls are a perfect alternative to a towel.
carpet color…
I found it very useful. Thanks for the knowledge. I am personally trying to follow the advice & try to be independent….
