Quote Of The Day

January 18, 2006

“I can’t wait to see the look on your face when I win.”

said by my 5 year old as we sat down to play Candyland.

Three games, discrete card placement, and forgetting to move my gingerbread man, he finally saw the look on my face. It was relief.

    This post made me smile.
We’ve all been there and done that, but it still warms the heart to picture it.

  2. Carmen says:

I hate board games. Hate, hate, hate them.

  3. Heth says:

Candyland is the never-ending game. I always got so sick of my girls fighting over Princess Frostine.

Sounds like a competitive little guy. :)

  4. Jenni says:

Oh, you are truly a girl after my own heart. It has always been my personal belief that the person who invented Candyland should be shot. If he/she is already dead, then he/she needs to be dug up, shot, and buried again.

  5. "D" says:

I’m with Jenni! The sooner the kids learn to play “trouble” or “sorry” the better!

  6. Melissa says:

I am with you on this one. I do ot like board games in general, but Candyland is by far the worst. I try to end it after two games. I cant wait untill my youngest is old enough to play it with her sister.

  7. KaraMia says:

LOL, I can not even count the amount of games i’ve thrown just so we could be DONE…lol

  8. Melora says:

Three games of Candyland! You truly deserve the Good Mommy award. Candyland gets my vote for the all-time most painfully boring board game.
    Cordially,
    Melora

  9. WriteWingNut says:

    ROFL!! Been there, done that.

  10. Songbird says:

I always stacked the deck…there is no worse fate than Grandma Nutt when the game is almost over.
