How to Eat An Oreo
April 4, 2006
I swear I didn’t teach him this.
What I didn’t catch on video was the smashing of the chocolate cookies that followed shortly after.

James would defently pick up the center right off the floor too.
Very cute.
April 4th, 2006 at 4:57 pmThat is one cute insurgent you have there.
April 4th, 2006 at 5:13 pmThanks for sharing!
OHHHH he is so cute.
April 4th, 2006 at 5:20 pmHe is darling! Isn’t it weird how eating the middle first in an Oreo appears to be a basic human instinct?
April 4th, 2006 at 5:43 pmMan, lots of “how to” posts today.
Any idea “how to ride a bicycle?”
(ducking and running)
April 4th, 2006 at 6:00 pmHere’s what I want to know: why (how) is your house so quiet? That kind of quiet strikes fear in my heart, when it happens here.
April 4th, 2006 at 6:06 pmwho do I hear breathing so heavily?
April 4th, 2006 at 6:36 pmWhat? No milk?
He is a sweetie!
April 4th, 2006 at 6:58 pmI guess I am breathing heavily… though I think you have the volume up too high
It was that quiet in my house because it was before 6:00am and everyone else was still asleep. What? You mean you don’t feed your kids oreos before breakfast?
ben,
April 4th, 2006 at 7:05 pmI haven’t ridden a bicycle since I got married 12 years ago… ::snort::
OMG he is so cute.. He was so quiet the entire time he ate that cookie! Not one peep out of him..
When my daughter was his age, she would eat the caramel and the chocolate off the the Twix candy bars and through away the cookie. Go figure..
April 4th, 2006 at 9:49 pmI was going to ask about the silence too.
What a cutie.
April 4th, 2006 at 10:05 pmOH. MY. GOD. THIS IS PRICELESS!
April 4th, 2006 at 10:09 pmLOL! Oreos for breakfast… you are the coolest Mom!
Twisting the Oreo open to scrape the cream center with his front teeth: brilliant.
Using the other half to pick up the fallen creamy center goodness from the kitchen floor: PRICELESS
Heck, I’m going to go watch it again.
April 4th, 2006 at 10:10 pmSo cute! And clearly he followed the the three-second rule when the filling fell on the floor, so I say no harm, no foul! ;^)
April 4th, 2006 at 10:38 pmHow SWEET is that!!!!!!
April 4th, 2006 at 11:00 pmHe’s so cute! It’s amazing what kids will eat off the floor. My mom always says a child has to eat a peck of dirt before they will grow. What exactly is a peck of dirt anyway???
April 5th, 2006 at 12:06 amOh, SO CUTE!
April 5th, 2006 at 12:41 amSo freaking cute. My kids would definetly pick up the middle if they dropped it. I think it is a basic instinct to eat oreso like that. Do your older ones put the cookie back in the jar or box? And yes, I have fed my kids cookies for breakfast occasionally.
April 5th, 2006 at 12:52 amToo, too cute, Chris.
And I’m lol about the heavy breathing - sounds like a serial killer. My speakers were cranked, though, in anticipation of a cute saying - I always have my voulume too low on these things.
April 5th, 2006 at 5:54 amAwesome! Sophia’s been so into the cookies lately that she’s taken to grabbing us by the sleeve and dragging us to the cabinet where they are and pointing at her mouth until we give her one.
Haven’t tried an Oreo on her - yet. I think he head might explode from excitement…
April 5th, 2006 at 7:45 amha! I loved it when he picked it up off the floor, and how at the very beginning he knew you’d give it to him once the camera was rolling. He was there waiting for it!
What a cutie!
April 5th, 2006 at 7:54 amI love the look on his face when the filling is gone and he’s left with the (unwanted, apparently) cookie portion. “What use are these with no more filling?”
April 5th, 2006 at 8:28 amI love that kid.
April 5th, 2006 at 9:24 amAwww! That is the cutest thing I’ve seen in a long time! (I swear my kids are going through a “not cute” stage at the moment.)
April 5th, 2006 at 11:22 amAwww! That is the cutest thing I’ve seen in a long time! (I swear my kids are going through a “not cute” stage at the moment.)
April 5th, 2006 at 11:23 amYay, another proper oreo eater! I just came back from the USA where I stuffed myself on double stuffs, god they’re good
April 5th, 2006 at 1:01 pmJust found your site and that video clip was well worth it. That was just too funny! He is adorable. I can’t wait until my little one starts doing stuff like that. Thanks for sharing.
April 5th, 2006 at 2:19 pmI LOVE the heavy breathing in the background - I totally recognize it from our own home videos: the sound of the cameraperson trying not to laugh and thus distract the child from whatever performance you are trying to capture on film…
April 5th, 2006 at 6:01 pmI am quite sure that Nabisco would pay for that video. That would make a great TV ad.
April 5th, 2006 at 6:26 pmsuch a great mom you are! everytime I read your posts, i think..what a great mom!!!!
I added you to my sidebar, I think you crack every mom up!

April 5th, 2006 at 10:45 pmAgh, Chris, that kid is making me want a baby so bad. The little red sleeper! Big dark eyes! Amazing oreo-filling-retrieval skills! Could he GET any cuter?
April 6th, 2006 at 2:58 amHoly cuteness, Batman!! Miles may very well be the cutest baby EVER.
