Vacation all i ever wanted

Vacation all i ever wanted

August 7, 2006

This week on my other blog I am writing about vacationing with children on a budget.

I am kicking it off the series with a post called, Disney on a Family Budget. As anyone who has ever been to the happiest place on earth knows, Disney World and budget do not go hand in hand. The entire place is designed to seperate you and your money as quickly and often as possible.

But I will offer up my tips on how we made this visit to mecca both fun and affordable.

Hi… clicking on ‘other blog’ is just bringing me back to this blog… just thought you should know…

We cheated, we let Grandma and Grandpa pay for it. Because we really, really didn’t want to go yet (kids’ ages) and it was August but they had to see “their grandchildren at DisneyWorld.”

If your children are older and you don’t have a stroller to store all the snack‚Äôs and drinks in, sniff sniff let me take a moment here, try taking small back packs for the kids to carry.

We recently went to an all day sports event and I had one back pack filled with drinks, wet wipes, tissues, snacks, the phone, the camera you name it. We all took turns carrying it and as the snacks and drinks were consumed the bag got lighter.

I saved a fortune on those costly things and only got ice creams for the boys on the way home.

Thanks Chris for taking the time to share your thrifty thoughts, it’s a great site. I love the idea of getting a self contained appartment too.
