Someone stage an intervention, quick
March 7, 2007
I love shoes.
I know it is no secret, since NoBloShoMo.
And, yes, I realize that it is terribly cliche.
But yesterday Mir posted on her Want Not site about a shoe sale. I wasn’t planning on buying any shoes. But then, she began showing me the shoes she was thinking of buying for her wedding. And then I found myself looking at shoes. You know, to help her. Because I am nice like that.
Somehow I ended up buying 6 pair of shoes. Only spending between $8 and $12 a pair, for shoes that are regularly priced over $100 and in a few cases closer to $200. So it isn’t like I spent a ton of money. Really I spent less on all six pair than I usually spend on one pair of new shoes. Or was it seven pair?
Either way, like I told Rob, I saved money. Saved lots of money.
Yes, I can justify anything.
But now I need to stop looking at shoes. Because the website (link here) keeps posting new fabulous shoes, just to taunt me.

Wow, what a deal! That is totally justifiable. At that kind of price how could you not buy?
March 7th, 2007 at 4:16 pmI’m actually grateful. Though I am a total Imelda, I haven’t bought too many shoes in the last few years because I had two babies back to back and well, I was just too HUGE to totter aroiund on nice shoes, but now… I am desperate and can’t seem to find any I like. I’m headed over to your links…
March 7th, 2007 at 4:16 pmI went there too yesterday… and drooled. And had about 50 pairs in my basket before sanity returned and I quietly shut down the my window… Sadly.
Congrats on the shoes!
March 7th, 2007 at 4:33 pmSo, in November a few things happened.
I discovered blogs -I started a blog
I discovered NoBloShoMo -I started taking pictures of my shoes and subsequently realized I don’t have any shoes and have started to slowly add….
Now this.
I’m kinda scared about this internet thing.
March 7th, 2007 at 5:42 pmThis seems to good to be true…. Does it really work?
March 7th, 2007 at 5:53 pmCarrie—provided that both Zappos and Endless have exactly the same shoe in stock (size, color), all you have to do is place your order with Zappos and then call for your refund. The staff there is super and it’s a painless process.
I can’t top Chris’ 6 pairs but I was on the phone with Zappos a few times yesterday.
March 7th, 2007 at 6:57 pmUm, I must say that I’m almost shaking now. We have no money. I cannot buy shoes, but if I recall correctly my husband did once promise me a “summer of shoes”. drool…..
March 7th, 2007 at 11:08 pmShoooooooes.
That’s all.
March 7th, 2007 at 11:09 pmallrighty all I’m seeing is $200 a pair - tell me how I make this thingy work?
March 8th, 2007 at 1:42 amI don’t have a thing for shoes.
I wish I did.
Maybe I just need a friend who loves shoes to shop with me?
March 8th, 2007 at 7:35 amThat’s a lot of shoes. Now you’ll have to go to lots of places to wear all those new shoes.
Have fun.

I’m with you Mary! Where are the cheap shoes? I think they see me coming and increase the prices, ’cause they know I’m such a sucker. Or it’s kind of like when you go to a Chinese restaurant and there are two menus, one for people who know what they’re doing and the other for everybody else. I am not good at bargain hunting…I just don’t have that kind of drive. It’s people like me that make it possible for these companies to offer good deals to people like Chris and Mir. But I want cheap shoes…please advise.
March 8th, 2007 at 12:04 pmYou can’t talk about this fab wibsite and not tell us what it is. Share the goods girl!!
March 8th, 2007 at 12:08 pmI actually think that is a fabulous deal and the fact that you bought 7 shoes and have 7 kids makes complete sense. Giving birth and raising 7 kids everytime you buy yourself shoes you should be able to buy 7 pairs!
Why because I said so!
March 8th, 2007 at 1:48 pmDo you think the minus 5$ shipping fees works overseas, too?
March 8th, 2007 at 1:51 pmthank you for posting this. i had my fiance read it, and now he doesn’t feel he can poke fun at me for the total of 15 pairs of shoes that i own.
March 8th, 2007 at 3:21 pmI had a hard time finding the cheapies too, then I finally realized to sort by price, low to high. Hope that helps!
Congrats on the shoes Chris — you totally deserve it! And by the way, I realized if you place the orders individually, you get the $5 discount on all the orders!
March 8th, 2007 at 4:56 pmHey! Another Dani on here! I even saw the “Dani” and thought “did I already comment?” Anywho… Anyshoe… Since NaBloShoeMo I also started my own blog about shoes
And I ordered 4 pairs on endless.
March 8th, 2007 at 6:34 pmThanks for the tip! I needed new shoes since my Mary Janes that I wear a lot were being held together with staples. And I needed white sandals for my friend’s wedding this June. Anyways I saved $109 so thanks!!!
March 8th, 2007 at 8:53 pmOh, I just had to add … they don’t call the site “Endless Shoes” for nothing.
March 8th, 2007 at 10:19 pm[...] And then I had to find shoes to go with my dress, and I forced Chris to the dark side with me, which kicked off a shoe-buying frenzy of heretofore unknown heights. So my wedding shoes are en route (these, if you must peek, though I’ll have you know that with my mad cheapskate skillz—see how I used a z there, to make myself look cooler?—I paid $16 shipped for them), but somehow while all of that was happening I may have bought a couple other pairs of shoes. [...]
March 9th, 2007 at 12:58 amHeh, heh. I followed Mir’s advice re the Endless/Zappos match up got three pairs at $167 off, one at full price (which I am returning because I just don’t like them). THe shoes already came. Daughter was so in love with one pair that she had me on Zappos last night at 10 pm getting a pair for her at the $13/pair (delivered) price. Oh I think I did a bad thing showing her how to do this….
