Broken

Broken

October 24, 2007

You might have noticed, you know if you have eyes, that the blog looks like it did awhile back. Also that it was gone all day.

That is because my new design broke. I don’t know how. I don’t know what it means, other than all of a sudden it was not working. FATAL ERROR was flashing at me. That sounds bad. Not just any old error, but a FATAL one.

And people smarter than me looked at it and tried to figure it out with no luck.

Imagine me shrugging here.

So now everything is all messed up and very unpretty. And I am rather tired of looking at it.

oh that sucks! it’s so frustrating when your site goes down.
i’d offer to help.. but I’m no good at this stuff!

  2. lotus07 says:

Well from my point of view, I never saw the old template….so this all looks pretty new to me.

  3. Carrie @ Three-Girl Circus says:

Awww, I’ve missed that little shoe!

  4. peepnroosmom says:

I went to your site this morning and got the FATAL ERROR. Now it looks fine to me. Welcome back!

  5. Wendy says:

I think it broke from your overwhelmly awesomeness. Or because you are so popular.

We are back to the shoe of many questions. Oh little shoe what is your story?

  6. Angella says:

Awwww…computer stuff makes my heart hurt when it goes wrong. It may also include crying and throwing things.

Hope someone comes to your rescue ;)

  7. Karen Vogel says:

Who broke it? Blame it on one of the kids, of course - we’d all back you up.

  8. Angie says:

Love the old look!!!! So not unpretty

  9. jennielynn says:

I like the old and the new. I wondered if it had something to do with Vodkarella’s abrupt departure. I’m a little conspiracy nut, ya know?

  10. Jen says:

I didn’t realize how much I prefer this shoe template until I clicked on your link and smiled to see that little shoe again….

  11. Sara says:

This is a cute layout! :) I’m glad you are back.

  12. Heather's Garden says:

New to me and not at all unpretty. I was distressed when I got the fatal error message this morning, so I’m happy you’re back!

  13. lisa says:

aww it looks like the photos are trying to break out of jail. i’m glad your site is here, “unpretty” or not!

  14. Ruth H says:

I thought maybe you had been hacked when I got the fatal error messages. Glad it’s fixed, there was some pretty crazy stuff going on.

  15. Lotus Carroll says:

Bummer. Things like that require either booze or chocolate, depending on your preference. Sometimes both.

And Kudos to surviving anything fatal.

  16. Katie says:

Ugh, there’s nothing worse than staring at miles of code and not seeing the problem. Good luck getting it fixed.

  17. Susan says:

Mom always said don’t play ball in the house! ;)

  18. Lilly says:

Sorry for the computer headache. But I even liked the banner that was on your site earlier today for a while. It was a kind of peaceful generic thing. They’re all good. Of course I still miss the BYH.

  19. Holly Smith says:

Aww, I’m sorry! Glad it wasn’t fatal to… you know, like people :)

  20. Annika says:

Was it your other kid? What’s his name - Not Me?

  21. Beth says:

Now me? I like the wee shoe. It’s feisty.

  22. Jennifer says:

I am so sorry! At least you didn’t lose all your writing.

And now you have an excuse to come up with an all new design!

  23. Brigitte says:

Phew! It’s not just me! Although, am I the only one who also got a “fatal error” message from your site a couple days ago, which went away, then I got to see your lovely fall photos, then it came back?

  24. Geri says:

even though as you say it is unpretty, thanks for putting up your site. I need my trenches fix… daily. i hope you get it debugged and running soon b/c i know that not knowing feeling can drive anyone crazy.

  25. jody2ms says:

Glad to see your site back up, but I can bet it was a long HTML kind of day.

I got a new laptop as my old one was dying, and I spent the whole afternoon in transfer hell….when you IM’ed, I sat helpless and could not answer or the whole transfer would start over again. I wanted to smash both computers.

  26. JESSICA says:

hey..i LOVE the shoe !!!i missed the shoe..sh*t happens. im just happy you are still here !!!:-)

  27. Lisa says:

    It’s a flashback weekend!

  28. Lori says:

I never saw the little shoe. But I like it. Since I’m partial to red, not pink, I like the other color scheme better…but I’m mostly just glad that you’re here. Aesthetics don’t mean much to me. Thanks for all you do. You’re great!

  29. Stephanie D says:

Don’t take it personally, but I like this banner/look better anyway. Sorry for your hassles, but I was tickled ‘pink’ to see the pink shoe again! :)

  30. Carola says:

I´m sorry to hear that. I hope it is solved soon.

  31. Jackie @ Family Daze says:

    Hello, sweet little shoe!

  32. Fiddledeedee (It Coulda' Been Worse) says:

I too missed the shoe. There is something very wonderful and artsy about this layout. And I miss the naked Barbie hanging from the doorknob. Or did I dream that?

  33. ashley says:

    I actually preferred this one.
