They do don’t they. A 6′2″ child that rarely lets me give him a kiss used to be glued to my side and say “Kiss me on the wips.”

  2. Lizzi says:

OMG - were you like 12? You’re adorable! Oh, and the baby is cute too … ! ;)

  3. Maya says:

So, not to state the obvious but…. You have a teenager in the house! Wow!! Here in California its 6:20 and I have been up for a while read ling your archives and laughing so hard my whole bed and husband are shaking. Thank you!

  4. jody says:

That is my favorite pic of you. you just look so glowing and happy.

    Happy 13th kiddo!

Welcome to the world of the teen.

  5. Anitz says:

Congratulations… but I think someone stole the photo… I think I saw it somewhere else!

You should put the “notes from the trenches” on it before someone else posts it again!

    Here, here I found it!

    Ha! I knew it!

  6. Ruth H says:

Awww…. sweet little baby feet. Where did they go?
My youngest child is 46 and I still see my baby in his eyes, and in the eyes of his brother and sister.
When I think of how many teenagers you will have at one time I say a little prayer for you because Boy! are you going to need it.
    But we love them still.

  7. Barb Cooper says:

I always think these milestone birthdays are really much more milestones for the moms. Congratulations on letting him live to see his teens! –Barb

  8. Chris says:

Yes, I have posted the photo before.

I no longer have a working scanner so I can’t get any new photos up on my hard drive. I suppose I could get out my external hard drive and hook it up, but the effort from doing that might just kill me.

  9. Beverly says:

  27. Katie says:

My oldest turns 9 years old tomorrow. 9. I can barely believe it. I am already starting to cry. I mean, seriously. That means in 9 more years, I can legally kick her butt out of the house! Who wouldnt cry tears of joy about that? Not really. I just sit here and think, 9 years ago today, I wasnt a mother yet. I had a big belly, but I wasnt a momma yet. How much things have changed.

  28. FishyGirl says:

Wow, you were just a baby! What a sweet picture.

    And happy birthday, oldest boy.

Blessings of patience on your head, Chris.

  29. Ms. Carson says:

Look at the scrunchie on your wrist… so 1994.
You look about 13 yourself in this photo.

  30. InterstellarLass says:

Aack! I’m about 7 months from mine being a teenager too! Don’t you agree that every time you look at them, they’ve changed? Did they look that grown-up last week?

  31. Fina says:

Is that a scrunchie on your wrist??

Such a beautiful picture of you both.
You should print a few copies and leave them
in his drawers, toys, pants pockets etc. The agony he’ll have
    will give you such pleasure.

  32. She Likes Purple says:

    Happy birthday!

And you do look just adorable.

  33. Denise says:

I hate it when that happens. Really hate it. Happy birthday to you both.

  34. Joy H says:

Happy Birthday to your big guy!

    What are you 25 now????

(ftr, I see a ton of little Miles in you)

  38. Suzanne says:

My oldest son was born one year and one day later. Amazing, isn’t it?
I know you’ve had people ask how you’ve convinced your husband to have more, but I’d really like to to know. I just want one, maybe two, more… You don’t have to give it all away, just a Little bit!

  39. Rocks In My Dryer says:

I’m only two and a half years behind you…

And have mercy, Chris, did you give birth to him when you were 12?

  40. Kate says:
