Digital Cameras For Kids
November 22, 2007
I was asked to review some of the popular digital cameras that are currently out on the market for kids.
For an entire week I felt like I was stalked by the Paparazzi. Seriously, look:
The review is written and up over here. If you are thinking of buying any of these for Christmas you’ll want to read it.
Here I am in one of the many, many flattering photos taken of me over the past week. At least my nostrils are not prominently featured in this one
I now know how Lindsay Lohan feels. I am just trying to drink my coffee, man.
I also have lots of photos now of the television.
And tons of photos like this one, which make me question if my children are dropping acid in their bedrooms:
So go on over and read, so I was not stalked in vain all week long.

Looks like you have some budding Papps there! Lovely pic of you!
November 22nd, 2007 at 3:10 pmLOL one question how did you keep them from tearing each other apart begging to be the one to try out a camera! How did you ever decide who would get to try one and who would get which? ………..do they get to keep them? (actually one question turned into 3 LOL)
November 22nd, 2007 at 3:51 pmHave a wonderful thanksgiving and give all your munchkins a big hug !
Whenever my kids get hold of the camera, I end up with lots of photos of the floor and the ceiling, and the insides of their noses. There is no way I’m spending money so that they can do that with a camera of their own.
November 22nd, 2007 at 4:18 pmAh, yes, the slew of television photos . . . my first camera was a crappy 35mm Fuji something-or-other and I wasted roll after roll of film on sleeping cats and episodes of Babar.
That review is fantastic, you hit on all the points parents would want to consider when they’re looking into getting a camera just for the kids, and it was just plain fun to read!
November 22nd, 2007 at 4:54 pmYou’re gorgeous! Happy Turkey Day.
November 22nd, 2007 at 7:34 pmTHANKS…..I know my 6yo is gettting a FP Camera from my SIL for Christmas. SIL had some demos that she had to get rid of; that’s the reason my girlie is getting it. I’m not sure if she’ll care about prints or not. Great review.
November 22nd, 2007 at 9:33 pmThanks for the review!
Were any of those Mac friendly?
November 22nd, 2007 at 11:24 pmI recently upgraded from my old Canon Ixus of 8 years to the new Canon S5is, relegating the former to my 3 yr old Caitlin.
I guess as all toddlers do, she was running around snapping away at people. I got some weird & not-so-flattering shots of people who would otherwise never pose properly for a proper shot. These people did pose for my little angel of terror, but the angle & distance… well let’s just say I know what you mean about the prominent nose (& other anatomy)
She once dropped my Ixus. The lense barrel actually misaligned & couldn’t retract nor focus. I had to force it manually back into what I thought was the correct aligment angle. It’s now working again, but I haven’t checked the photos to see if it is able to focus properly for sharp shots…
She has never been allowed near my new one since…
November 22nd, 2007 at 11:31 pmWe got the blue camera - what’s that thing, Fischer Price, I think? - and it’s startling how many pictures of the TV we have, too. Also all his key rings and used cell phones. Let’s me know where his priorities lie.
November 23rd, 2007 at 2:18 amBella has that blue one, too…in pink, of course. She plays around with it some, but when she really wants to take pictures, she still comes and gets mine. And does a darn fine job with it, actually. But yes, with the “play” camera? SO many pictures of SpongeBob.
November 23rd, 2007 at 7:49 amCool! I was looking at the FP camera for my daughter (6) I think I’ll go and look around for the Nickolodeon one now! Good info and excellent flashback
I just had a memory flood of the year I got my shiny blue and white disc camera!!
November 23rd, 2007 at 9:00 amThanks so much! We are seriously considering buying one for my 4 year old girl. And hey! You look fantastic just drinking your coffee. If you saw what I looked right now, post- Turkey day, in my jammies- you’d have an allergic reaction even if I was dairy and gluten free.
Blessings to your family!
November 23rd, 2007 at 11:09 amThank you for a wonderful review. And, for the linky love.
Mu-wah!
November 23rd, 2007 at 11:11 pmI just love the photo of all the kids with the cameras! That is just too cute!
November 24th, 2007 at 9:02 amYou know, I’m not sure what I expected you to look like, but you sure are purdy. And even as a breeder you have good hair? Remarkable. Utterly remarkable.
