Happy Birthday! What?! You didn’t torture him by putting a number 3 on his cake? You’re a much better mother than I.
March 3rd, 2008 at 9:17 pmChris says: I sent Rob to the store to get the candle and specifically said get a 3. But he got all confused
Wow. It goes so fast. Just think, on his next “birthday” (leap year) he will be able to drive!
March 3rd, 2008 at 9:27 pmHe is very handsome - both as a baby and a 12 yr old! What day do you celebrate when it isn’t leap year? (the 28th or the 1st) Lucky you for a son like that and lucky him for a mom like you.
March 3rd, 2008 at 9:29 pmAwww….what a handsome young man (for 3…heh, heh, heh). My daughter Alaina turns 12 on Fri. Lord help me now with 2 now in the midst of all those hormones…
March 3rd, 2008 at 9:29 pmThey do grow in a blink of an eye don’t they?
March 3rd, 2008 at 9:39 pmHe looks so genuinely happy here! What a cutie.
And as for your husband…Men!!
March 3rd, 2008 at 9:48 pmMy sister-in-law is also a leap baby… she just turned 6.
March 3rd, 2008 at 9:51 pmToo funny how Rob got confused at the store! At least the 1+2=3, right? Is this your second oldest? Hubby and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary on leap day (16 years married - 2/29/92).
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:06 pmQuit blinking, Mom!

March 3rd, 2008 at 11:50 pmOhmigosh, 12 already? Happy Birthday! I’m just a reader of your blog and I’m sentimental that he’s grown so much so fast. He’s a beautiful baby and a handsome 12 year old!
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:59 pmHappy Birthday to you from Western Australia.
I always rememember my Mother saying ” They are not Babies long” and I used to wonder what was she talking about. I am a Midwife specialising in extremely preterm babies and I too say this to all our Mums as it is so very true. I have watched over the years colleagues have their children and before you know it they are getting married and having their own.
Time just seems to fly along, Please young one just turning 12 live for the moment please don’t wish your days or life away, it will have flown past before you get to know it. Cherish every moment you are given as you are only given each moment once.
Take Care.
March 4th, 2008 at 12:13 amHAVE A REALLY GREAT DAY.
Lots of Love Carolynn xxxx
OMG I just love him. Happy birthday, Leap Kid.
March 4th, 2008 at 12:25 amYour birthday posts always bring tears to my eyes.
March 4th, 2008 at 12:51 amThat’s actually the first “leap year ” baby I’ve ever heard about.
But ,I Guess if you have 7 , it’s bound to happen.
I can’t even get a “mothers ring ” because all of mine were born in the summer.
It would be 2 rubies and some weird stone I can’t even remember.
Gah!
Happy Birthday!!!
12 is still sweet for a few more years.
March 4th, 2008 at 12:59 amHappy Birthday!
March 4th, 2008 at 1:09 amI have a 12 year old as of Feb 25th - was due March 2, arrived a bit early. Hubby wished for him to be born on the 29th - thinking we might save on birthday expenses.
Happy 3rd Birthday ha ha ha
Sorry how many times did he hear that during the day?
March 4th, 2008 at 2:40 amOHHH and when he’s sweet sixteen he’ll be just 4! With all those brothers he’s going to be teased without mercy!
March 4th, 2008 at 2:43 amDid any siblings get on his case for being “the youngest”?
March 4th, 2008 at 6:26 amAwww! What a handsome guy!
March 4th, 2008 at 8:59 amHppy Birthday!
Happy Birthday dude!
March 4th, 2008 at 9:20 amWhat a cool birthday! Does he love it or does it annoy him?
March 4th, 2008 at 9:39 amSo, seriously, when do you celebrate on a normal, nonleap year? My DD was asking me this the other day. I said I guessed you just chose either the 28th or the 1st…. which do you do? Happy bday!! 12 is awesome.
March 4th, 2008 at 10:44 amIs that Indiana Jones? He is the coolest!
Chris says: yes, it is Indiana Jones!
March 4th, 2008 at 10:53 amHAPPY B-DAY!!!!
March 4th, 2008 at 11:19 amMy dad was also a leap baby. He passed away almost 5 years ago. This year he would have celebrated his 17th actual birthday. God Bless you and your family.
March 4th, 2008 at 12:04 pmHappy Birthday, Boy the Second!
March 4th, 2008 at 12:28 pmSuch and adorable 3yr old.
March 4th, 2008 at 12:51 pmChris, was this the first birthday after the freeze on buying wants instead of needs? How did that go?
Happy Birthday and congrats to you for being his mother for 12 years!
March 4th, 2008 at 4:46 pmHappy Birthday!
He is exactly (almost, my son’s bday is March 1) one year older than mine!
March 4th, 2008 at 6:53 pmthis *blinking* thing….
March 4th, 2008 at 8:02 pmi know the years go by SO fast. But the days… they sometimes last forever.
sigh.
You are so lucky to have a leap year baby! I was hoping for one this year, but, alas, it was not to be. What day does he usually celebrate his birthday? I hope it was happy!
March 5th, 2008 at 1:52 pmFrom one Leap Year baby (okay, I just had my “10th”, so maybe not so much a baby anymore) to another–Happy Birthday! Sorry to wish it late, but my computer, it was down…again. Anyway, we “leaps” know how to stretch a birthday out like no one else, so I’m sure he’s used to the whole “didn’t know when you celebrated, so…” conversation. Tell him the leap gets better each year. Enjoy!
March 5th, 2008 at 8:30 pmOMG 12…make sure and let me know how it goes…my 11yr old son seems to be having a challenging year with his identity, one day he wants to be 19 the next 6. Such a hard age ~ it seems.
March 5th, 2008 at 10:19 pmHappy Birthday!
