Sunday Morning
March 10, 2008
Just dropping off our tithe at our place of worship. You know the place whose motto is “You can build it. We can help by taking all of your disposable income.”

Ha. If it’s more than 10%, isn’t it really an offering?
March 10th, 2008 at 12:56 amThat tickled me so bad I laughed out loud. Thanks for the giggle!
March 10th, 2008 at 1:05 amAhh, yes. They take our tithe as well.
March 10th, 2008 at 1:05 amlove it!
March 10th, 2008 at 1:24 amAhhh! Worship at the alter of the Depot…smart to train ‘em young. Surely they must have some sort of punch card system for you…renovate 5 bathrooms get a laundry room free? No? Shameful!
March 10th, 2008 at 2:01 amReally? Only a tenth? I think we give these guys way more than that.
March 10th, 2008 at 3:38 amThat’s where we worship too!!!
Do tell - what are you working on now???? We are currently looking to put hardwood in our bedroom, I could just faint at the prices.
March 10th, 2008 at 6:38 amHa! We worship at the same place! And we gave our tithe yesterday as well.
The front of my under oven drawer fell off the other day, so we had to get something to fix it. Otherwise, it will look like redneck trailer trash lives here!
March 10th, 2008 at 6:41 amSometimes I feel like the place is so big, my daughter will get lost, living in the forgotton corners like those little birds that always seem to get lost in there.
March 10th, 2008 at 7:16 amYes, we dropped off a tithe at that place yesterday as well. Know that place quite well.
March 10th, 2008 at 8:05 amWould this mean that the cabinets are going it?
March 10th, 2008 at 8:31 amHA! and for a minute I thought you were at the Children’s Museum!
March 10th, 2008 at 8:39 amWe were finally able to give up that place of worship as we moved, but sometimes I feel a little lost as we yet to replace it with a new place. Maybe Ikea?
March 10th, 2008 at 9:01 amLove it! My hubby goes through withdrawl if he doesn’t stop there at least once a week. Last Friday evening he went “just to walk around”.
March 10th, 2008 at 9:01 amAt bedtime my two year old typically requests that we “talk Lucy’s day” or “talk Lucy’s friends”. After spending both Saturday and Sunday morning at HD this weekend, her bedtime request was to “talk Home Depot.”
March 10th, 2008 at 9:29 amI feel like I must confess my sins. Dear Depot Lord, we had to visit the “local” place of worship yesterday. As any human would, I’m going to place the real blame at your feet…you didn’t have the bushes I needed for my landscaping.
Your humble do it herselfer forever
March 10th, 2008 at 9:57 am(Thank you for allowing me to be sin free once again!)
Oh my! Is that why I feel compelled to spend so much money there? I didn’t realize it was the Church of Home Improvement, but it makes so much more sense!
March 10th, 2008 at 10:24 amThis cracked me up as I read the words in my reader and so thought you were talking about helping to build the church with your disposable income. Then I came and saw the pic and almost peed. I like going there on Friday nights by meself b/c it’s very quiet. If they only had wireless hook up I’d be there all the time.
March 10th, 2008 at 11:59 amAh yes, the weekend tithing. Ours this weekend was at the altar of Costco, but with a backyard to landscape soon, we’ll be back at THD soon.
March 10th, 2008 at 12:29 pmyes, we have been worshipping there for years. it is a sunday morning ritual. and of course, no trip to Home Depot is complete without the necessary follow-up trip to Home Depot, after you realize that what you first purchased does not in any way fit what was needed.
March 10th, 2008 at 12:41 pmWe are members as well! I no longer feel so awful about the money we spend there. I now know I am just a very religous home improver!!
Thanks for the laugh-
March 10th, 2008 at 1:26 pmI’m so glad my days there are numbered…. Damn these home additions!
March 10th, 2008 at 5:18 pmSooo… offering up one of the kids, eh?
March 10th, 2008 at 6:32 pmAAhhh, glad to see I’m not the only broke worshipper. Hope we get to see whatever new project you have in the works. You show me yours and I’ll show you mine.
March 10th, 2008 at 7:23 pmHere in Aus we have a place that sounds somewhat similar, Bunnings and they most certainly have had their fair share of our income over the years. They are literally less than 5 mins drive from home. Mind you it is a fascinating place to look around, Sooooo many gadgets, and soooooo many things for the garden.
Take Care
March 10th, 2008 at 10:32 pmLove Carolynn xxx
It’s not a weekend without at least one trip to the Depot! LOL!
March 10th, 2008 at 11:00 pmIf we tithe there, is it tax deductible? Because if it is, I am so getting a refund.
March 11th, 2008 at 1:21 amWhen we were building our house we called it Home Despot instead.
March 11th, 2008 at 2:03 amOnce upon a time I would have wondered how people could spend SO much money at that store and its twin.
March 11th, 2008 at 11:47 amAnd then we bought a house. Do I have to tell you how excited I was to find a $10 coupon for Lowes in the paper?
Heck, we bought stock in the company when we bought our first house and realized we were going there almost daily for 3 months straight.
March 11th, 2008 at 1:03 pmAh, we have been there many times this week. And its way more than 10% with a 1917 bungalow.
