If only it could be so.

  9. Headless Mom says:

The cape flying in the breeze makes it truly perfect.

  14. suburbancorrespondent says:

What is it about capes and little boys?

  15. Mark says:

Wonderful :) my first daughter had a Spiderman outfit complete with padded muscles. It looked freaky - bit like having a dwarven Arnold Schwarzenegger running riot in the house.

  16. To Think Is To Create says:

Ha–we have those same ones. Love how you caught the cape flying proud!

  17. peepnroosmom says:

    Thanks, Batman!
Peep had the exact same pj’s when he was little. So cute.

I LOVE IT. I shall sleep well tonight. :)

  19. Brittany says:

I know when I go to sleep tonight if there’s any chance of a bad dream or while I’m at work today if I need anything, I can call on Batman and know that I will be safe!

  20. Shannon says:

    Beautiful shot!

  21. Jules says:

*Phew* I know I will sleep better tonight :)

  22. Sue says:

Cute! And where’s the snow? Is it finally warm there?

  23. Rebecca says:

    Awesome :)
My daughter told me one day she plans to marry Batman someday. I feel better knowing she’ll have a nice security system when she’s on her own ;)

  24. Wendy says:

Did he get a call on the Batphone? What does he know that he isn’t telling us? I guess I will let him handle it, I am sure he is better equipped than I would ever be.

  25. Trish says:

Ohhh! I miss those days of super hero PJs.

  26. Kristina says:

I have a Superman (complete with cape as well) over here. Together we practically have the Justice League!

  31. Jamie AZ says:

I feel very safe knowing BatMiles and my two Power Rangers are protecting us all. :)

  32. Laura says:

Is he armed also. I had a rubberband shooter/slingshot that looked a lot like what he is holding. Amazingly I do feel safer. Afterall I’m not in his line of sight.

Chris says: Yes, he is armed with a slingshot.

  33. Burgh Baby's Mom says:

Thank goodness we have someone to keep us all safe!

  34. Debbie says:

    Too cute!

  35. KarateMom says:

Awww, my son had those same pj’s! And he wore them until he could hardly get them off, they were so small! I finally had to hide them from him because I was tired of having to rescue him from getting his head stuck as he was trying to take them off.
So cute! I love little boys and their superhero obsession!

  36. Natalie says:

I’ve been reading your blog for a few weeks now–sorry to just now delurk and have to say I really enjoy it. I love the stories of your kids, your home renovation (going through that one myself), and just your life in general and how refreshingly truthful they are. Thanks for sharing them with me.
I’ve been trying to read back entries and today on my lunch break I was reading your note to your 16 month old son (http://www.notesfromthetrenches.com/2006/04/page/2/) and you talked about him wanting to wear a cape…and here we are two years later and that’s exactly what he’s doing. :-)
Again, thanks for the blog and have a great weekend.

  37. Lisa Lisa says:

That is just waaaay too cute!!! I will defiantly “Rest Easy”! And he’s armed with a slingshot??? Oooh, WATCH OUT NOW!!!

  38. Heather says:

I’d feel safer if his pants weren’t on backwards.

  39. Jeanne says:

Thank goodness you didn’t take a picture of that cute face and dimples, we’d want to eat our superhero. I think there’s special powers when you wear the pants backwards. And isn’t that a scene in an old comic book - Batman looking for Easter eggs with a fairy princess?

And happy birthday to your nine year old. Please pass along my wishes - and thanks for the monkey bread recipe. Never had it - can’t wait to try it.

  40. Betsy Bird says:

    SO cute!

  41. carrie says:

I love it. I wish my boys were still that little.

  42. Sock Girl says:

I feel so safe now!! What sort of weapon is batman holding there? A bubble wand maybe? In any case, he’s adorable!
