The last few days are such a contrast. It seems like just last week that you guys were all snowed in and practically house bound. and now it looks like summer practically…..
April 18th, 2008 at 9:29 pmI am so hoping my three year old doesn’t find that out for a couple of years.
April 18th, 2008 at 10:06 pmI just jumped off a swing the other day! It was exhilarating.. and really stupid.
April 18th, 2008 at 10:15 pmGreat photo! I’m jealous, I would have had the worst blur ever!
April 18th, 2008 at 10:37 pmYour photo looks like it could be in a clothing catalog. What does his t-shirt say? Boy I remember being in good enough shape to jump of a swing — and having scrapped knees all summer.
Chris says: The funniest thing…his t-shirt says “Pavement Hurts”
April 18th, 2008 at 10:57 pmYea- Spring is here!! That is a cool shot.
Is it me or does #5 have the exact same face as your daughter? They look so much alike to me!
Chris says: They do look very much alike.
April 18th, 2008 at 11:38 pmWow, he is growing up so fast. It seems like last time I remember him he was crying over his dropped ice cream. That is him, right?
April 19th, 2008 at 5:53 amGreat action shot!
My 7 year old just discovered this joy. Sadly, I had to actually encourage him to try as he’s not one to take risks. He’s more of a geek than a jock… He’d much rather play computer games. The swing set my mom gave us has been a God-send for getting the bunch of them to actually go outside.
April 19th, 2008 at 7:44 amI love it!
Glad it is warm there now. Time to be barefoot!
April 19th, 2008 at 8:00 amThese are brilliant photos.
April 19th, 2008 at 8:26 amGreat catch on that photo, Chris. And truly, jumping off IS the best part of swinging.
April 19th, 2008 at 9:08 amAbsolutely! Wonderful picture!
April 19th, 2008 at 10:01 amI suppose you must get some bad action shots and just not post them, right? Otherwise I’m feeling very, very inadequate!
April 19th, 2008 at 10:14 amYou have the best action shots, EVER. Not fair.
I love the look of concentration on his face!
April 19th, 2008 at 11:59 amHis babyface is GONE in this picture - he just looks so grown up. From a cute boy to a handsome young man in one jump. Great picture!
April 19th, 2008 at 12:03 pmYes, yes it is!!
April 19th, 2008 at 1:22 pmI’m sure you’ve answered this before..but do you mind sharing what type of camera you have? You really do take amazing photos.
Chris says: Thank you. It is a Nikon D40x.
April 19th, 2008 at 6:33 pmHe’s a beautiful child, Chris. You really are so blessed with these kids!
April 19th, 2008 at 10:50 pmMy word you catch some incredible photos.
April 20th, 2008 at 12:22 amWhat a great photo!! I could have made my dd jump a hundred times (if she was old enough!) and still not gotten that shot! And if by some miracle the timing was right, it would have been blurry. I’m always so impressed with your pictures! I know you take a lot of bad ones, but I probably take 300 - 500 pictures a month and don’t get as many good ones as you! I’m so jealous! Enjoy the warm weather!
April 20th, 2008 at 10:46 amhi chris…..changing the subject slightly, i just checked out “dooce” and your writing is sooooooo much better!! your style is so honest and touching.i have 6 kids myself from theages of 10 down to 4mths.you give me so much inspiration and maintain my sanity on the tough days!!!!!!
April 20th, 2008 at 4:27 pmOh, how I miss swinging.
April 21st, 2008 at 3:23 amI really don’t know how you capture such awesome pics.
April 21st, 2008 at 9:33 amYou take the best pictures ever. I’m putting the Nikon D40x on my wish list. And considering this is my first item on my first wish list ever, I have hope. Heh.
