Five
April 21, 2008
We celebrated this weekend where she made her own cake (with help from Rob), a two layer triple chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and cherries on top. She was so proud of her cake. I have no good photos of the cake since my camera battery went DEAD and I couldn’t find the charger.
Since today was her actual birthday I picked up a small pink cake while I was at the grocery store. Can you celebrate a birthday too much? I don’t think so. Can you have too much cake? Definitely not.

Happy Birthday! Five is definitely a biggie, since ALL the fingers on one hand are now required.
What I love though, is the pink iPod clipped to her shirt. Do you think twenty years from now she will look at this photo and think, “Oh, look, remember when an iPod was as good as it got?” much like I think when I see pictures of myself in high school, with my big-as-a-car boom box next to me???

Not to sound like a broken record, but what a lovely cake and that pink ipod is the coolest!! What are some of the songs that she listens to? I would have loved one of these as a 5 year old, and I know for sure which ones I would have requested!!

April 22nd, 2008 at 2:25 pmOh my heavens she is cute! Good thing she has lots of brothers for protection.
April 22nd, 2008 at 2:57 pmThere is no such thing as too much cake. My girlfriend invented something called the “proximity to birthday clause,” wherein treats, unauthorized purchases and extra cake can and will be justified by the proximity to the birthday, i.e., one week prior and one week after the birthday, approximately.
I love the headphones, “Thank you for the cake, Mother, but music is my life.”
