Like All Good Things

I don’t want to be the mother who yells, “Brush your teeth. Wash your hands with soap. And roll down the grassy hill already, dammit, we have a schedule of fun to keep!”

I’ll miss you over there- you’re the reason I read there!

Good luck with the to do list-it is my nemesis here.

I’m delurking after months and months of enjoying your wonderful writing to ask what became of the no-shopping blog, since I was really interested. Has it moved? Is it gone?

  3. CaliforniaGrammy says:

You’re smart to pare down your busy-ness. Life does go by way to fast, and yes . . .the “kids” are soon adults with kids of their own! Will continue to be one of your loyal fans, though! You’re writing I enjoy very much!

  4. Sabbatical Mom says:

Sometimes I think I am dangerously close to becoming that mom…yikes!

  5. Wicked Stepmom says:

    Oh thank GAWD!

    It’s not just me.

  6. Jamie AZ says:

Wicked, it’s definitely not just you! I only have two kiddos and I always feel like there’s a to-do list and a want-to-do list that seem never ending. I like the thought of just sitting back and enjoying the ride, but I so often feel like I have to steer the car, too!

not only with a schedule of fun to keep…BUT you are going to have so much fun you will have to have your smile surgicaly removed!!

I will miss you are parenting. I cannot count the times your post there have brought me to tears and forward the post to my sister in law and tell her, ” read this with kleenex here is a Mom who not only gets it but is AMAZING”.

  8. Mary W says:

“Would everyone hurry up and get over here and smile for heaven’s sake we’re trying to make memories here!”

I am not sure who uttered those words in front of the alamo.

  9. Hip Mom's Guide says:

I, too, am wondering about your no-spending blog. Is this all connected? It’s like a good mystery! Seriously, though, you must know that you articulate so well what many of us feel, and even though it’s “just blogging,” those of us who do it know it’s a lot of work. Thanks for all of your insights and time; I’ll look forward to seeing more of you, here. -Kirsetin

Great post! I often feel like I’m running from one activity to another.

your article voiced what has been in my mind of late.

we’re forever rushing to keep get everything done, that we have little more than a blur to show for it. there never seems to be enough time to do what i must, and what i want. if i could only get into my head that watching bugs with my child is a must, and clean floors are not…

time is cruel. my child is 10, and starting to show glimmers that little kid-dom is nearing its end. i cannot tell you how unprepared my heart is for this.

enjoy the rest of your summer :-)

Chris, whatever became of “in the trenches…”? Do you plan to bring it back (in whatever form)? I really enjoyed the information you shared there, whether it be parenting, practical or financial.

Really, really good entry. A wonderful way to say stop and smell the roses, but a lot less corny. You’re awesome.
