I Do It For the Joy It Brings
June 5, 2009
Because I am a joyful girl…
Because the world owes me nothing
But we owe each other the world…
I do it because its the least I can do
I do it because I learned it from you
I do it just because I want to

Oh, how glorious it would have been to have my days of being a free spirited girl captured like this! What a treasure this will be for her someday, Chris - I hope!

June 5th, 2009 at 6:24 pmOh, and I bet she does it just because she can. I only wish I still had the courage to soar on the swing set–I remember the feeling — but alas, now just a lazy swing makes my tummy hurt. Ugggggg. Thank you for continuing to let us see into the life of your family.

June 5th, 2009 at 8:28 pmThat last picture is a glimpse into teenage-hood. Watch out!
June 5th, 2009 at 9:48 pmOMG she’s growing up lightening-fast. What a beautiful active girl! Those pics of the swings and clouds - YUM.
June 5th, 2009 at 10:10 pmI cannot believe how grown up she looks, again! Wonderful song choice, by the way. I know I’m not the first to say that, but it really does fit.
June 5th, 2009 at 10:20 pmLove the way you captured the swings. Was trying to do something similar with my (nearly 4-year-old) son the other day, but it is hard to push someone on his swing with one hand and take photos with the other. Ended with both of us screaming. Not exactly the memory I was going for.
June 5th, 2009 at 11:37 pmWhat a lucky little girl! What a lucky mother! The two of you make the world brighter.
June 6th, 2009 at 1:27 amThank goodness she’s playing on the swing, she’s looking way too grown-up otherwise!
June 6th, 2009 at 6:51 amOne of my favorite Ani songs. Love the angle of swingset shots. They do a great job capturing the feeling of swinging.

June 6th, 2009 at 1:44 pmThat really brought a smile to my face. And the bare feet just topped it off, reminds me of my granddaughter who turned 12 last week.
June 6th, 2009 at 1:54 pmPlease tell me where you got that tee. My daughter is a pirate princess all the time. Love it!
What a way to capture the swings…I love it!

June 11th, 2009 at 9:12 pmJust a stunning family
What a feeling of peace and joy and quiet contentment that brought to me today. I have a daughter in the same age range, with similar pizzaz and love of life in her eyes. It made me smile to see verbalized and photgraphed so clearly.
