You Know What This World Needs More Of…

Playing Limbo.
Seriously. Have you played recently?
It is impossible to be unhappy while you play. Especially if Bob Marley is playing loudly in the background.
The secret to world peace is right here, friends.
President Obama should take note. Not to mention I am sure he could kick Kim Jong-il’s ass in limbo, mon.

Do you love suburban life? I was just thinking the other day that you’re so much more suited to it than being isolate like you were before. Especially with your love for children!
Gorgeous pictures!
June 10th, 2009 at 10:15 amWorld-leader limbo day. What an awesome sight.
June 10th, 2009 at 10:20 amSo did you limbo in your little black dress? On that front I wanted to weigh in, maxi dress-boo, short dress-whoo hoo! I’m going to be turning 40 on July 4th, and I say if you got it flaunt it…..be Fab (not drab) at 40 sista!
June 10th, 2009 at 10:28 amHave you moved into the best neighborhood ever, or what?! Are you looking for a house or are you just planning to stay right there? (Hint: my vote is for staying RIGHT THERE. Unless you want to move to DFW.)
June 10th, 2009 at 11:43 amPriceless pics! We had a limbo contest this past weekend at my grandfather’s 95th birthday. He did not participate, but it was still hilarious.
June 10th, 2009 at 11:44 amBecause I am a Trinidadian nitpicker, and with all due respect to Bob Marley (who I adore, and whose song “Three Little Birds” has long served as a lullabye to my daughter), I feel obliged to point out that the Limbo is in fact, Trinidadian, and not Jamaican.

Let me know if I need to send you a few calypsos for your kids to Limbo by.
June 10th, 2009 at 12:11 pmLove this! I especially love the hot pink water wings… I’m willing to bet that limbo is even MORE fun if you’re wearing hot pink water wings.
Also, I KNOW he could whoop Kim Jong-il at limbo… I mean, did you see him dance on Ellen? That man can move.
June 10th, 2009 at 12:15 pmLETS ALL LIMBO NOW
June 10th, 2009 at 12:35 pm*starts lining up the entire middle east*
June 10th, 2009 at 1:01 pmI take it there’s a pool nearby that required the lifejackets on some? That or you really took the whole helmet safety thing to the next level!!!
June 10th, 2009 at 1:20 pmWhat a happy post and possible solution to world peace. I think you all like Texas or maybe it is living in a neighborhood with lots and lots of other children.
June 10th, 2009 at 1:26 pm….and it would be cheaper than this whole ridiculous bail-out thing!
June 10th, 2009 at 1:42 pmWow, first it’s Susan with the Slip-n-Slide at http://www.fridayplaydate.com and now limbo… Summer is HERE!
June 10th, 2009 at 1:43 pmThat’s something I would like to watch. But don’t forget the Hula Hoop, too! Michelle Obama’s got that covered.
June 10th, 2009 at 2:12 pmI love your son’s intense face in that first picture. But, then again, he’s the kid that doesn’t play baseball for fun, right?
June 10th, 2009 at 2:46 pmyour kids seem to be fitting right in…I hope you and the family are happy with the move…they certainly get lots of outside time…and, I am one of those that likes the color…my son tans up like that too…
June 10th, 2009 at 3:45 pmFUN, I am so jealous, and I see limbo happening here very soon, while Dan’s still here from Hong Kong before he goes back to Austria.
June 10th, 2009 at 6:12 pmI love the pics of your kids lately, the kids all brown and barefoot with tousled hair playing outside. Really reminds me of my own childhood being outside from morning till night with nary a shoe in sight. Wonderful!
June 10th, 2009 at 7:43 pmoh, that looks like SO much fun. I wish we lived in a neighborhood so my boys could play with other children like this!!
June 10th, 2009 at 8:51 pmIf it were at my house… the limboing would be IMMEDIATELY followed by sirens… and EMT workers…”ma’am? Can you move?”
June 10th, 2009 at 9:05 pmIt looks like you guys found a wonderful place to live.
June 10th, 2009 at 9:25 pmI could be miserable while playing limbo…because my sciatica would probably go out. But then again, maybe I’d have fun after I laid on my back for a bit.
June 10th, 2009 at 10:05 pmMy almost 3 year old always asks if he can limbo under the stall doors in public restrooms. I told him he should NEVER be that close to those floors!
June 11th, 2009 at 1:17 amI think I’ll use that technique at home. As soon as the boys start bickering, out will come the limbo stick! Do *not* make me get out the limbo stick boys!
June 11th, 2009 at 6:33 amI was going to comment about the water wings, but Aubri beat me to it. Love. Them. (Also love the image of Obama and Kim Jong Il in an international limbo-off.)
June 11th, 2009 at 8:58 amChris - the pictures are GREAT b/c the kids faces have utter joy!
June 11th, 2009 at 9:46 amWhat a fun life! Swimming and limbo-ing, it’s what summer is all about.
June 11th, 2009 at 2:25 pmWow, talk about drudging up some memories. I haven’t played limbo in YEARS.
My niece has a birthday party this weekend. Maybe I’ll suggest it!
June 11th, 2009 at 4:40 pmI think I should play with the kids this week. If it stops raining. Hmm.
Great shots!
June 17th, 2009 at 10:28 amSuch a perfect vision of the Power of Small making our lives so much richer and more fun. Thanks for the limbo lesson!
