You Just Can’t Help But Be Startled

July 20, 2009

This has made me laugh every single time I have watched it. Do you remember how much fun it was to blow bubbles when you were a kid, with no regard for it sticking to your face or in your hair.

  2. allmycke says:

Oh yes! It was less fun when Mom had to try and get the gum out of my hair…

  3. Ruth H says:

I laughed too. I remember thinking, “this time it’s going work,” every time. Always a surprise when it pops. So cute.

  4. Suzanne says:

Impressive… my kids still haven’t figured out how to blow bubbles without shooting the gun out of their mouths when blowing.

    She is adorable.

  5. tammy says:

    Love it

I use to get it stuck in my hair but as you said then we did not care.

  6. Just Another Mom says:

She is adorable! I love the startled look on her face when it burst. Hilarious!

Tsk. You know, it’s such a shame that you don’t have any HAPPY kids. ;)

i remember having to have gum cut out of my hair several times because of my bubble blowing glee.

  11. Tammy and Parker says:

I actually remember when Bubble-licous was introduced.

(Too bad I can’t remember how to spell it though, eh?)

You are braver than I. After having to have a cat SHAVED because of being covered in a TON of newly chewed bubble gum that one of my kids had left on the basement floor, I banned the stuff from inside our house.

What I really wanted to do was ban the kid from ever coming back inside the house.

  12. Heather's Garden says:

I’m pretty sure I learned to blow bubbles and snap my fingers the same summer. I remember getting a great deal of glee out of both!

  13. Nextcommercial says:

I’m amazed at how tan your kids are. I don’t remember them getting this dark. They get some nice healthy color!

I still remember a picture of her sitting on the bottom step with her older brother wearing two different shoes. It’s funny that I have enjoyed watching them grow.

Chris says: I think the sun wasn’t out enough for them to ever get tan in CT!

  14. Bonna says:

I remember when I first learned to blow bubbles. i was about 8 or 9 years old and it was banana flavored bubble gum. A small piece was not sufficient, so I decided to chew the ENTIRE packet. Suffice to say, my jaws ached after a while, but I DID learn how to blow a bubble. I also learned how to peel bubble gum off my face using what else? Bubble gum!

  15. Aisha says:

When I was five, my grandparents took my sister and me to disneyland. I was trying to blow bubbles with a large wad of gum, and… well, I don’t remember what the process was that led me to this brilliant decision, but I stuck the gum in my hair as ‘proof’ that I had managed to blow a bubble. I think an episode of the Simpsons had something to do with it.

I love how pleased she looks after that complete look of shock. Perfect.

  16. Overflowing Brain says:

OMG, the cutest thing I’ve seen all day. And I work with 6 year old girls at a summer camp. :)
