He Beats Me Every Time

September 28, 2009

Whenever I play wii bowling with Miles he beats me. I’d like to say that it is because I don’t try. But that would be a lie. I still maintain that if we bowled in real life I could kick his ass. If only because I would have the advatage of actually being able to lift a 10 lb bowling bowl.

When we do go bowling I am going to do with a flourish like Miles. Not sure when exactly the next time I will be bowling since the last time I went it was for my oldest son’s fourth birthday party. BACK IN 1998! But when I do, rest assured I will be bowling like Baryshnikov.

In case you can’t make out what he says to me at the end:

Whoa, you are creeping me out.

What?

You are [dramatic air quotes] creeping me out [/dramatic air quotes]

Well, ok then.

    Hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!

  2. Lindsey says:

Ha! That’s awesome. I pretty much suck at Wii sports…so I guess that is just in keeping with real life.

  3. Amy says:

That’s so cute! I played a bit of playstation with my daughter recently and my person spent nearly all the game time smashing his nose into a wall or running into a room immediately after throwing a flash grenade in.
Part of me worries that that is exactly what I would do in a real life emergency.

  4. Shelley says:

Ok, that cracks me up because my 7 year-old daughter has the same type of flair and style when Wii bowling. And she ALWAYS wins! She likes to spin around in a circle and fling her arms out. One day she discovered that she could actually take her turn while in a different room, so not even looking at the screen. I think she won that time too.

  5. Bobbi Janay says:

I think it is so funny.

  6. Peter says:

Chris, this is great. I shared the video with others in my cube farm, because they don’t believe my 6-year-old daughter kicked my butt with a 264 in bowling…while dancing.

Thanks for having the video camera handy. Validation is mine!

  7. Becki says:

OMG. Why are you creepin him out mom???

He’s bowling here! Important man stuff happening.

  8. reen says:

Priceless! Now I think I need a Wii just so I can watch my kids play it.

  9. Erin says:

My husband takes Wii Bowling very seriously and gets really into it — maybe a little less than your son, but still intense. I like to sit on the couch and bowl from there. I almost always win. :)

  10. eli says:

He is such a dramatic kid! So was my first - and still is, and then some!! Watch out! ;-) Love the flooring - such a Texas house…I miss them so.

  11. Lynette says:

OK, you would totally throw out your back doing that flourish with a real bowling ball! But I’m thinking jazz hands and a little dance step after releasing the ball would seriously improve any real bowling game.

My 4 year old was severely disappointed to find out that real bowling is not nearly as satisfying as Wii bowling, and he even got to use the ramp and the gutter rail things.

  12. Victoria says:

You are (whisper AND dramatic air quotes) creeping me out. AWESOME!

  13. brandy says:

Too cute. But I hear “what the hell are you doing to me now”.

  14. Cary says:

My 4yr old keeps saying “You’re creeping me out” as well. Is it on a show or something. Kind of creepy.

  15. Baby Favorite says:

I love how his air quotes could double as antennae.

And, uh, really… sometimes you creep ME out, too. Just sayin’.

  16. Kristin says:

He’s so cute! My little guy is addicted to Wii…anything.

BTW your house is eerily quiet (yet gorgeous….)

  17. Tasha says:

I love the way the word creeping sounded like “quweeping”. Very cute.

  18. Heather B. says:

    THE AIR QUOTES!!!

  19. Tiffany says:

I totally understood what he said when I watched the video, I have a 4 year old. I want a WII!!

  20. Veronica says:

He’s so cute. Do you like having tile in your family room?

  21. Katie in MA says:

Wow. Your living room is soooo clean. All that space for me to put my clutter! :) The cleanliness is kind of …”creeping me out.” (The new internets catch phrase, ladies and gentlemen…)

  22. cee says:

I sprained my shoulder (seriously) from too much Wii tennis. Be careful little dude!

  23. Tracy says:

    hilarious!
my 4yo son’s high score is 256 and when I bowled with him I wasn’t doing as well as he was and he said “maybe you’re just not very good at bowling mom”

I wanted to say “listen little dude… I used be on a bowling league… I have trophies!”

My parents sent him a little bowling trophy with his score on it….

    *sigh*

  24. Gift of Green says:

I think the cutest part is your giggle at the end. Too cute!

  25. jessica says:

too funny! I think the phrase ” You’re freaking me out” is from Ratatouille. He may have revised his own version to “creeping me out” :)
