Act I, Scene i:

Not quite as chipper as day one. But just as cute.

Act II, Scene i:

So, Miles, what did you do today at school?

None of your business.

Well, at least that is a refreshing change of pace from the “nothing” I usually hear.

Act III Scene i:

Wow, why is he acting like that?!

He’s just tired. He isn’t used to being at school all day.

He is acting like a little asshole.

Well, maybe he is picking some of that behavior up from someone at school.

Mom, did you ever think that maybe he is the asshole spreading the bad behavior around?*****

Over at alphamom, I have a post up Five Mistakes Every Kid Should Be Allowed to Make. C’mon over and tell me if you agree.

And, the Laughing Cow campaign is still going on, so join me at the the Daily Laugh. Every day I will have a post up linking to a funny blog post from one of the Laughing Cow bloggers. Go leave a comment on their blogs for a chanve to win $150. Also, every Monday there will be a photo captioning contest. Heh. My youngest was EXHAUSTED for the first month he was in school after being home schooled. Luckily, we had a great teacher, and he was a bit older (2nd grade), but still! It’s the pressure of having to be “on” all day long, I think.
Hope he evens out soon, mostly for your sake ;)

Your kids crack me up! My oldest started kindergarten too and I put her on the bus Tuesday morning. All of my friends were horrified that I didn’t take her, but it’s what she wanted to do. In fact, the bus stop has quickly become my favorite part of the day - what’s not to love about having a cup of coffee and talking to adults first thing in the morning? God I love public school!

I love Miles! I love that he feels secure enough to say “None of your business.” and that he knows exactly how to use the phrase. I guess that’s the benefit of having a loving family and a whole host of older siblings!

You’re doing a great job, Chris!

PS - I love your blog!

First, love your door. I love doors with Texas stars.

Second, your kids crack me up. “Maybe he is the asshole…” Too funny. But, it can’t be. Nobody with that smile and those dimples can be the asshole. Just impossible.

I am cracking up! “None of your business.” That is just hilarious! I’m also sick of hearing “nothing.” After 7 years of having kids in school, I’m over it.

My kids don’t start until Wednesday. I would like to say that I’m happily soaking up the last few days of summer. However, I’m chomping at the bit to get them the hell out of my house.

Loved this post. Mostly because I have a first grader going all day for the first time. Hubby and I are hoping the snotty attitude passes soon, preferably before I strangle him.

    Funny!

We got an official memo from the kindergarten teachers warning us that our new K5′ers might be “grouchy, hard to get along with, and irritable” for the first few weeks as they transitioned. I never knew kindergarten gave little kids PMS.
