going-to-game2

This boy. Oh this boy.

(Picture me here inhaling deeply and shaking my head slowly)

He is intense. He is full of life. He is funny. So very, very funny. He is sarcastic. He is deeply sensitive, but hides it behind a tough bravado. I can see through it.

He can bring me to the highest high of parenting. And just as quickly plunge me into the depths of despair.

He challenges me to be a better parent. (Sometimes he challenges me hourly.) Sometimes I fail, or to be more accurate, I feel like I have failed.

I look at him and think, I am a better person because you are in my life.

Then I shake my head.

This boy. Oh, this boy.

He is so precious to me.

Yes, I have a boy like this. I have two children who are easy to parent and one who makes me earn every parenting stripe I have. I worry, I laugh, I cry way more often than I would care to admit.

Thanks for this post. I know how it is.

Happy birthday to Kate’s cyber twin!

We celebrated by driving around town as usual oh it is a birthday too. I guess I made gluten free cupcakes and frosting without ingredients ^^

I think my youngest(2) is a lot like that, he is certainly giving me a run for my money. I have 4 kids and the other 3 were so different, I get up tired and my energy drains as soon as I hear him stirring. He can also be so sweet and funny. Tell me it does get easier and I will figure him out.

  4. Melissa says:

I echo everything you said, except substitute the word “girl” for “boy”.

Aren’t our children amazing? My children were born eleven years apart, and I believe the first daughter made me grow up, and the second daughter caused me to stay young!

I hope you are happy and well!

    Love,
    Melissa

I can completely relate. I have a child just like this.

I have one of those too.

They have a way of doing that these boys… *joins in sighing and head shaking*

I can’t get over how much older he looks!! It never ceases to amaze me how beautiful your kids are!

I just want to say that you have very lovely blog entries. It’s very obvious that you love your children very much and what lovely boys they are! They’re going to be heart-breakers when they grow up! (Well, not literally, just a way of saying they’d be handsome when they grow up into adults.)

    Keep up the great blogging
