A Peek at Mother’s Day
May 9, 2011

Miles and I as drawn by Miles.

I could accept the part that I had yellow hair and I like to eat vegetables.
Some of the things confused me, my favorite show is Happy Gilmore?
But if I could have one wish it would be to get another pan for cooking? It’s like this child doesn’t know me at all.

Good Ride Home
May 7, 2011

You know that you have had a fun sun-filled day when everyone drops off to sleep as soon as they get in the car. My 10 yr old son insisted he did not fall asleep in the car on the way home. Luckily I had the photographic evidence to prove otherwise.

Barton Springs

In the end we left Deep Eddy Pool and went to Barton Springs. It would be the perfect swimming place for families with only little kids, littler than mine. We stayed for about half and hour and my kids were already bored. There’s no diving board, no little tadpoles to try to catch, no crazy people watching to do.
And there were fire ants all over our stuff in the short time we went to swim.
We cut our losses. And we had no regrets.

Cake
Decorating the gluten free cake with chocolate frosting.
First birthday cake I have had in years. I am not sure who was more excited, me or the children.
The children enthusiastically said, “Wow, this is good considering it is something you an eat.”

In the Brief Moment Before the Bickering
On our way to Deep Eddy Pool in Austin. Heard it was a little less naked than Barton Springs.
And by naked I mean actual unclothed people. Which wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing except you know the rule seems to be the less clothing a person has on the more clothing they should be wearing. I may be permanently scarred from the octogenarian wearing a skimpy thong.
