Kenmore Elite, The Dishwasher With Power
This is a sponsored review from BlogHer and Kenmore.
This Kenmore Elite dishwasher is so quiet that I can not even tell when it is on unless I look at the LCD display that showsyou what is going on inside. It washes the dishes perfectly. The silverware is shiny, the glasses are spot free, there is no food residue swirled around and baked on to the rest of the dishes.
So, I decided to really put the dishwasher to the test.
I put my super large lasagna pan into the dishwasher. I did not pre-wash it, or rinse it out. I left it sitting out on the counter overnight. The dishwasher was filled with our dishes and I just didn’t feel like washing the pan that night. You know how you have those nights? Usually I put the extra pots or pans in the sink and say that they are “soaking.” But honestly, “soaking” is code for too lazy.
I did not know what to expect. I know how much work it is to scrub it clean by hand. Could a dishwasher, any dishwasher, do as good a job? I wasn’t sure it was possible.
I set the dishwasher to the Pots and pans setting and went on my merry way. Just thankful it was out of the sink and I could prolong having to deal with the scrubbing.
Well, I could not have been more wrong.
It came out perfectly clean. There was nothing left on the lasagna pan.
I wept tears of joy.
So, let me ask you this… how would you like your own Kenmore Elite dishwasher (or refrigerator, oven, or washer/dryer)? Maybe the better question is why wouldn’t you want to win them? I bWell now you have the opportunity. Visit the BlogHer.com review round-up page and enter a comment for a chance to win one of the major appliances.
Comments left on this post will entered into a drawing for a Kenmore coffee maker! (Rules here) I can not wait to get mine and tell you how it works. My expensive coffee maker died a slow and painful death. Of course I ignored all signs that pointed to its imminent demise until it sputtered and refused to turn on one dark, dark morning. And then I bought a super cheap coffee maker that doesn’t have an automatic shut-off and threatens to burn my house down every day.

what a high-tech dishwasher! My kids do the dishes every night and my automatic dishwasher just doesn’t do the job anymore and the kids are too lazy to do a quick scrub before loading the dishes in the dishwasher. I swear I have to rewash everything before I use it.

November 25th, 2010 at 2:05 amThank you for your website. It is very informative. We also sell Kenmore LG.
November 26th, 2010 at 9:25 amI love coffee - and we’re in a need of a new pot. Here’s hoping.
November 26th, 2010 at 3:43 pmI need a new coffee maker, so I would really love to win this. My current coffee maker leaks all over the counter when I use it.
November 26th, 2010 at 6:31 pmI could use this dishwasher.
November 26th, 2010 at 7:48 pmI have never had a dishwasher. Granted, I live alone, but at fifty I think I deserve one…
But truly, a coffeemaker is the one appliance I cannot do without. Who needs a refrigerator (well, unless you take cream in your coffee)? Why bother with a stove - if I can’t have my coffee, I’ll probably be too tired to use it and will burn the house down anyway!
Thanks for the giveaways, Chris!
November 26th, 2010 at 8:42 pmMy dishwasher is the noisiest machine in the world. I hate it so much. I’d love to win the Blogher giveaway.
November 26th, 2010 at 9:15 pmWould love, love to have one of these!
November 27th, 2010 at 12:00 amAwesome promotion. I am ready to kill for a new coffeemaker! I have to MacGyver mine just to get it to brew a half-arsed cup of coffee–I can’t even begin to describe the process involved. Suffice it to say, it involves a rolled up kitchen towel and blowing on the underside of the filter mechanism. Yeah, so I really could use a new coffeemaker.
November 27th, 2010 at 12:11 amWow - I will have to reconsider dishwasher brands now seeing/reading this. I know at some point we’ll need a new one — this is sweeeet! Too funny about the coffee maker - I have been a snob for some many years about HOW I make coffee, but these days I SO enjoy a good old simple drip coffee maker. Age brings those moments of clarity
November 27th, 2010 at 12:38 amWould love a new coffee maker!
November 27th, 2010 at 1:53 amOh my god. That would be amazing. Unfortunately I am not a US resident anymore.
But I might send my mom over here…her washing machine flooded her whole basement last week. Ruined the carpet and everything.
November 27th, 2010 at 6:21 amThat is the dishwasher I have always, ever wanted. SRSLY.
Though I’ll take the coffee maker as well, as it seems awesome too.
Thanks Chris.
November 27th, 2010 at 7:09 amWe have recently bought a kenmore washer and I’m in love - actually would love to replace our dishwasher with a Kenmore product as well - even though we just replaced it two years ago.
November 27th, 2010 at 10:23 amMe, me, me! I want one!

November 27th, 2010 at 1:07 pmMy mom would love to come over for coffee from a new coffee machine!
November 27th, 2010 at 3:32 pmI am Impressed! Very nice, indeed.
November 27th, 2010 at 3:44 pmCool!
November 27th, 2010 at 5:54 pmI would love a new coffee maker. Mine is old and only has an on/off switch. I worry daily about it burning down the house.
November 27th, 2010 at 6:06 pmAnd I would love, love, love a new dishwasher. Mine is old and a hand-me-down from my mom. It leaves food on the dishes and bakes it on there good and crusty!
That is an awesome dishwasher! That’s the dishwasher we need. I constantly fight with my husband about washing the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher. I refuse. That’s why we have a machine to do it, no? Husband gets mad because it ends up in me just leaving my dishes in the sink for him to take care of.
November 28th, 2010 at 8:31 amLooks good. I’ve been happy with the quality of other Kenmore appliances (washer, dryer).
November 28th, 2010 at 11:26 amA grinder and brewer - with a timer, that would be a lovely treat to wake up to in the morning.
November 28th, 2010 at 11:47 amThat dishwasher rocks!
November 28th, 2010 at 12:27 pmI will definitely go over to the other site end enter there, but I need a new coffee maker too, so here’s my entry for that. I like the display on the dishwasher, that’s easy to read.
November 28th, 2010 at 3:58 pmMy dishwasher sucks. I NEED this thing!!!
November 28th, 2010 at 9:44 pmGreat for those open space living areas!
November 28th, 2010 at 10:03 pmYes pluhease. My current dishwasher barley cleans water out of a drinking cup!
November 29th, 2010 at 1:07 amI have never seen a washing machine that will tackle a dried up lasagna pan, what an awesome product. I would love a new coffee maker also
Hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving.
November 29th, 2010 at 2:08 pmI’m English, which means I drink copious amounts of tea morning noon and night, and have a fine collection of teapots for every occasion. But still I haven’t quite got to grips with coffee makers. I need one that thinks for me. That knows exactly how coffee is supposed to taste, so that I’m no longer thrown off kilter by the fleeting looks that pass between my American guests when they sip my coffee offerings. Please take pity on a poor transplanted Brit. I’ll personally forgive you for the little ruckus in Boston way-back-when over THAT shipment of tea.
November 29th, 2010 at 2:18 pmWoohoo! A coffeemaker!

November 29th, 2010 at 4:32 pmI need a new coffee maker! I have a 14 month old and one on the way!
November 29th, 2010 at 5:52 pmMy husband’s coffee pot just broke! We would love a new one. He works in the oilfield and he makes coffee every morning and pours it into a thermos to take to work — especially important on those blustery days when he’s braving the cold out on location.
November 29th, 2010 at 5:56 pmI can’t think of a single reason why anyone wouldn’t want any one of those things! (Unless they had them already. I personally would be incredibly happy for any of those things, including the coffee maker!
November 30th, 2010 at 1:07 amOhhh- my coffee maker is on it’s way out! This would be great!
November 30th, 2010 at 2:33 amI’d love to win this and replace my old one!!
November 30th, 2010 at 9:44 amI would so love to have a dishwasher like that-
November 30th, 2010 at 3:29 pmI don’t see a date for the drawing- I hope I’m not too late
I’m in envy! Our dishwasher buttons have worn off so we are “hoping” that it is on the correct cycle. In addition, the soap holder lid is off. You are SO lucky! I’ll look forward to finding out how you enjoy your coffee maker.
November 30th, 2010 at 5:21 pmMy new family and I moved into a new house six months ago and we are slowly renovating it room by room. Maybe next year will bring me a new kitchen!
November 30th, 2010 at 6:46 pmIn the meantime, I just started cooking last year when I became a part of this “new family”. Having never cooked before, the kitchen holds a new excitement that I’ve never experienced. I’m loving the recipes I get to try. It would be great to implement my kitchen with a new stove/oven. Ours is a little on the slow side!
I would love to win!
November 30th, 2010 at 7:09 pmso envious of these new appliances. A girl can dream. A girl can dream.
November 30th, 2010 at 7:53 pmMe, me me meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
December 2nd, 2010 at 12:55 amOooh, thank you!
