So Wanna Know Why I Am in Chicago?

I have been dying to write about it for awhile, but wasn’t able to until now.

The very first time I cooked a turkey I left the little bags of grossness inside the turkey. Giblets? Neck? Gag. I had no idea that it was inside of there. I learned my lesson and have never done it again. In fact, I sort of pride myself on being able to cook a delicious turkey dinner now.

Guess what I am going to be doing this Thanksgiving season?

I am going to be a Turkey Talk line blogger. I know. I can hardly believe it myself.

So right now I am here in Chicago at Butterball going through their Butterball University. There are no frat parties or beer bongs here, that I have seen, but an incredible bunch of women who know more about turkey than I thought it was possible to know about turkey.

From a presentation by a microbiologist, I personally have learned that it is a miracle I have not killed my entire family with my turkey defrosting and preparation techniques.
